Mesa’s Top 5 Sunset Spots You Can’t Miss
After a long day on the trail, on your bike, or running errands around Mesa, Arizona, there is nothing more breathtaking than stopping to enjoy a Sonoran sunset. Here are a few spots around town for the best sunset views in Mesa.
Want to Relax & Enjoy A Sunset View in Mesa?
One of the best ways to bask in the glow of the setting sun is from the comfort of a relaxing restaurant. Dine at The Patio & Grille at Las Sendas for a meal al fresco with jaw-dropping views of the mountains, desert, and city all blended together. Watch live music, and take advantage of their daily specials and happy hours. It’s a popular spot, so make sure to make a reservation before you go.
Looking for Adventurous Sonoran Desert Sunsets?
Looking for something more exciting? Get a better view from above, by booking a Hot Air Expedition for expansive desert views and gorgeous open skies. For a bonus, we also suggest the sunrise venture.
Where Can I Hike in Mesa for Sunset Views?
If you want to catch a peek at the sun setting, plan a hike at the right time for an upgraded view experience. For an easy stroll, you can wander the paths at Riverview Park to see the colored sky reflect off the water.
For a more intensive hike, you can brave the steep uphill walk of Spook Hill Mountain Preserve just in time to watch the mountains change colors with the setting sun. It takes less than a half-hour to head up, so you can walk it at your own pace if the grade gets difficult.
There are also ample places to hike for great views in the Superstition Mountains. One such spot for a photo-worthy sunset trek is the Wave Cave Trail – just make sure to bring a headlamp. It’s a heavily frequented area so going later will help you avoid some of the crowds, plus the lighting during the later hours of the day on the iconic wave rock formation at the end of the trail makes for a truly gorgeous view.
