The Fall Festival is back at Vertuccio Farms this spooky season. Located in Mesa, they are hosting the festival through the 31st, so you still have time to stop by to enjoy your Halloween traditions. You can play some games at the ping pong table or corn hole area and grab something to eat at the food court. Then wander the 5-acre corn maze and – hopefully – find your way out. This year, they announced a new interactive petting zoo, if you want to stop by to cuddle the goats and ponies. There’s no better way to celebrate Halloween than with campfire stories. Lost Dutchman State Park is hosting a storytime where you can learn more about the local area and the legends that haunt the Superstition Mountains. On Friday, October 29 at 6 PM it kicks off with Sonoran Stories: Tale of Two Roosevelts. Hear the story of the presidents who had such a major impact on national parks and promoting public lands.
Afterward, starting at 7:15 PM, is when things get spooky! The Lost Dutchman State Park is inviting people to meet at Palo Verde with a camp chair and their own ghost stories about the Superstition Mountains. There are many tales of people who have gone missing in the mysterious and beautiful mountain range. Hear a few stories, learn about cursed gold, and feel the chills of local ghost legends. The City of Apache Junction Halloween Festival is on Saturday, October 30 starting at 5 PM in Flatiron Community Park. Enjoy food and games, show off your skills at the pumpkin carving contest, and dress up your pup for the Howl-O-Ween Canine Costume Contest. Local nonprofit organizations will be putting together food and games, and all proceeds go directly to the organization. Support the community and have a spooktacular time on Halloween Eve.
